Crossing Tales groups three puzzle families: river crossings, bridge-and-lantern timing, and milk pouring. Open the level map to pick a chapter, or try the daily tale for a rotating challenge. Each style has its own controls, but all reward planning ahead.

River crossings

Characters wait on the near bank. Tap people to board the boat, then tap Row to ferry them. Someone who can row must be aboard. When the boat lands, unsafe pairs cannot be left alone on either bank; the rules list spells out which combinations need a guard. Get everyone to the far side in as few crossings as you can for a stronger star rating.

Bridge crossings

Select one or two people, then tap Cross. The group walks at the slower member's pace, so a one-minute and a five-minute traveller need five minutes together. Someone must carry the lantern back for the next trip. Add up every crossing; you must finish within the minute limit shown.

Milk pouring

Tap a source can, then a destination can. Milk pours until the source is empty or the destination is full. There is no tap and no spill: total milk stays constant. Make any single can show the target number of litres.

Worked example (river)

With a farmer, cat, and mouse, the cat cannot stay with the mouse unless the farmer is present. A workable start is ferrying the cat across, returning alone, taking the mouse, returning with the cat, then rowing the farmer and cat together. Each unsafe pair is supervised at every step.

Strategy tips

Return trips matter. On river puzzles, the person who rows back shapes what can be left behind. Plan the return passenger before you send the boat.

Send slow pairs together on bridges. Pairing the two fastest walkers saves minutes for the return leg with the lantern.

Track remainders when pouring. Note which volumes are reachable from the start fill; many cans puzzles repeat a small set of measurable amounts.
